Hello 36 Degrees North Members!

It is with great excitement that we announce 36 Degrees North’s new chief executive officer, Devon Laney. (The previous title of the position of executive director has been changed to chief executive officer.)

Devon is a tech entrepreneur and also has over 15 years’ experience in building thriving entrepreneurial & innovation ecosystems. He most recently served as the CEO of Innovation Depot in Birmingham, Alabama. Devon has also spoken in both the U.S. and internationally on entrepreneurial development, business incubation and innovation, and currently serves as the Board Chairman of the International Business Innovation Association. He is excited about coming to Tulsa and helping the startup community continue to grow and prosper.

After an extensive, nationwide search, the 36°N board and staff are confident that Devon is the best person to lead the charge in serving our incredible community of entrepreneurs. The 36 Degrees North mission has always been to help Tulsa-based businesses grow, and we know Devon will help further that mission by maximizing our existing momentum and finding new, fresh ways to serve and elevate our community.

Devon’s first day will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019. My last day as interim executive director will be Friday, August 30, 2019. Thank you for embracing me during the interim and allowing me a front-row seat to the innovative work you all are doing. I look forward to watching the organization grow and thrive for years to come.

If you have any questions about this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am here to serve however I can as we step into this exciting new chapter.

With gratitude,
Kojo Asamoa-Caesar
