Derek Webb is the co-founder of The Project Bar, a startup that host events at breweries where they provide all the necessary tools, supplies, and instructions to make something awesome. Whether you're a DIY expert or a novice, they’ll be there to help you have fun. After months of prep work, The Project Bar is finally opening! But Derek has a few other projects up his sleeve as well…keep reading to find out.

How, where and when do you get your best ideas?
I get my best ideas when brainstorming with my friends and co-founders. We sit around and discuss anything and everything without being discouraging to any thought. Even if we don't necessarily like one idea, it might spark another that we do end up loving.

What's a work tool or ritual that you couldn't live without?
Our group chat that we've got going all day! Whenever a great idea is sparked, we throw it in there and talk about it.

What skill would you like to master?
The accordion... :D

What advice would you give to someone seeking to launch or grow a business?
Keep up the energy with your team. It is easy to let your dream slide away if you aren't constantly pushing for it. We check in with each other often.

What are you most looking forward to in the year to come?
I'm looking forward to having fun with people and helping them craft cool things. Also looking forward to performing live gigs with my accordion. Also-also, news I haven't told to everyone yet...I'll be working at Holberton next year! At Holberton I'll be helping students learn software development, which will be very exciting and fun; I'm very much looking forward to that!

Why 36 Degrees North?
The friends! I love everyone here and the community is THE reason I love coming to this place every day.

Do you want to give any shoutouts?
Hi, Mom!

**The Project Bar will be hosting a Friends & Family Soft Opening on the 19th of November at Welltown from 7-10pm. There are only 30 spots available, but even if you can't work on a project, please come by and grab a drink!
